Ivory Tower

Ivory Tower
To Diane… a dear friend who gave me the insight of hope

The product of untimely loves
That left confusions as they passed
You searched for Ivory Tower walls
With which to keep you safe at last
So of the burning fear of love…
And with the sharpened tools of pride
You’ve forged these walls to build your tower
For your heart to safely hide
But captive of your Ivory Tower
Built to stand the test of time
Walls that hold no door to pass
Nor offer faults by which to climb
And deep within your Ivory Tower
Safe from all the pains of man
A time will come you’ll starve for love
And who shall enter…

No one can
